Our History

Kirk Care was formed on November 1, 1982 by the Kirkwood Ministerial Alliance as a non-profit organization to reduce hunger and poverty by feeding the hungry, providing emergency utility assistance and other services to those families and individuals in need living within the Kirkwood R-7 School District. (Kirkwood, Glendale, Warson Woods, Oakland and Des Peres.)

Kirk Care has been a volunteer-run organization since our beginning.  Our tireless volunteers continue to be critical to everything we do at Kirk Care. We have more than 75 active volunteers from local churches and others within our community providing client delivery service, client pantry shopping, stocking the pantry, coordinating food and financial donation events and providing leadership to perform all activities.
