Our History

Kirk Care was formed on November 1, 1982 by the Kirkwood Ministerial Alliance as a non-profit organization to reduce hunger and poverty by feeding the hungry, providing emergency utility assistance and other services to those families and individuals in need living within the Kirkwood R-7 School District. (Kirkwood, Glendale, Warson Woods, Oakland and Des Peres.)

Since 2001, we have utilized our existing pantry location that is not open to the public to fulfill and provide deliveries directly to 100% of our client's homes eliminating the burden of transportation for our families in need.

Kirk Care has been a volunteer-run organization since our beginning.  Our tireless volunteers continue to be critical to everything we do at Kirk Care. We have more than 75 active volunteers from local churches and others within our community providing client delivery service, stocking the pantry, performing assessments, coordinating food and financial donation events and providing leadership to perform all activities.
